The cake that the recipe is for is similar to the Applebee's cake, but not exact. You could use just the raspberry between the cake layers if you'd like, but the cream cheese mixture is so much more flavorful.

The picture is one of Applebee's Chocolate Raspberry cake, not a picture of the cake featured in the recipe. Would the raspberry cause the the top layer to slide off?

The pictures shows raspberry between layers and the instructions state creamcheese mixture…

Would the raspberry cause the the top layer to slide off?

By: amanda

<guid

I used two 9 inch cake pans and baked the cake at 350 for 30 minutes. Just as it said on the cake box. It came out so gooey in the middle and extremely dry on the outer egdes. It was so gross I had to throw it out. I would like to try it again. Anyone have any pointers?

I made this last night only to come up with a horrible disaster. Still a delicious cake, though. I had a slice tonight!

Sorry, but I've run the calculations using Weight Watcher's own website (eTools), and it comes up as 5 points every time. I did refrigerate and the frosting cracked when chilled. It doesn't look like the cake pictured, although it was delicious and I got a thumbs up and "it's a keeper" from my guests. Thank you.

Love this cake – easy to make, but I wondered if because of the cream cheese and cool whip ingredients, it needs to be refrigerated. I'm usually the designated baker for these occasions, and so I was trying to come up with something everyone would be willing to indulge in. I enlisted one of the other WW followers and together we scoured the internet for ideas, settling on this recipe. I was worried as anyone serving a new recipe to others is apt to be, especially on a special occasion, but the ladies loved, loved this cake. It's dense and chocolately and the raspberry sauce just sets it off. The short list of ingredients and ease at which it goes together is also much appreciated. This one is a goody! Thanks for sharing with us!

Three of the five ladies in our department at work are now on Weight Watchers, one of whom had a birthday this week. To answer your question, you won't use the eggs or any other ingredients that it may call for on the box. Just the cake mix itself. Good luck with the baking and enjoy the cake!

Hi Carol,<br
