BBQ Sloppy Joe Recipe – 4 Point Total

A great idea for an easy and low calorie lunch recipe, this BBQ Turkey Sloppy Joe Sandwich is super yummy! It has just a 4 Point Total per sandwich, and is a perfect main dish for just about any meal. Made with ground turkey instead of ground beef, and served in an Orowheat Sandwich thin instead of a high calorie bun, this Sloppy Joe Sandwich Recipe becomes pretty weight watchers friendly. Pair it with a low point salad or roasted veggies for a fabulous and healthy lunch! And though this is not an official Weight Watchers Sloppy Joe Recipe, anyone who loves this traditional American meal will definitely appreciate the lower calorie version. Enjoy!

BBQ Sloppy Joe Recipe

Ingredients:
– 1 pound lean ground turkey
– 1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
– 1/2 medium red bell pepper, chopped
– 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
– 1 tsp chili powder
– 1 tsp garlic powder
– ½ cup barbecue sauce
– ½ cup canned crushed tomatoes
– 4 Arnold Select Sandwich Thins Multi-Grain

Directions:
Brown turkey over medium high heat in a nonstick skillet coated with non-fat cooking spray, about 8 to 10 minutes. Add peppers and onion and cook until tender, about 3 minutes. Add barbecue sauce, canned tomatoes, garlic powder, and chili powder; and cook for about 2-3 more minutes.
Open one of your sandwich thins and put 1/4th of turkey mixture on the bottom bun. Place bun top over the turkey mixture and serve.
*NOTE: You may want to toast your sandwich thin a bit first

Serving size is 1 sandwich
Each serving = 4 Point Total

  1. Hi There! I have been on WW now for almost two years and I love coming on here to find recipes! I am a tad confused, however, because when I am calculating this the meat alone comes up to 3 points per serving and and bread (thins) come up to 3 points per serving. I am sure I am just misunderstanding, can someone please help? Thanks ! :)

  2. I find this dish make 6-1/2c servings for 4 weight watchers points plus. I used the recipe builder and calculated the points value. With that said, this is amazing, very yummy!! Will be making it again!!
