The spicy Orange-Chipotle Glazed Chicken Recipe is such a great idea because it’s quick and easy, requires just a few simple ingredients, and is incredibly delicious. The flavor is tangy, sweet, and spicy, and has a similar taste to Orange Flavored Chicken (the yummiest Chinese fast food EVER!) but with more heat.

The key ingredient is Jimmie’s Chipotle Pepper Jam, which I discovered a few years ago at a Farmer’s Market in Los Angeles. You can only buy it online for now, but oh my God, it’s so good!

This Orange-Chipotle Glazed Chicken recipe dish goes great paired with some steamed vegetables. I’ve also added some veggies into the pan with the chicken and made a delicious spicy stir-fry too!

  1. I made this on Sunday and I am loving it! I had to make the Jam myself but it turned out just fine–and the leftovers were awesome with cream cheese and crackers!

I added cauliflower and a bag of frozen cut peppers and double the sauce–I think I should have reduced it more initially. I ended up pulling all the meat and veggies out and reducing the sauce further, and then I got a beautiful glaze! The flavor is FABULOUS. LOVE IT. Will definitely make again.

  2. I got a really good glaze.  In fact I think next time I’ll add more of the pepper jelly.  I used the same one that was in the recipe,  The vendor was very responsive and helpful and it came pretty quickly.  I think the reason you didn’t get the glaze is because you may not have cooked the chicken on high enough heat.
I cooked it as though I was stir frying.  I have a glass top burner and cooked it on 8.  Hope this helps.

  3. Wanting to make this, but not have to purchase the jam online… has anyone tried and had success w/ other peppered jams?

  4. My consistency was also not at all “glazed.” I took out all the chicken and thickened it with cornstarch before serving. It was very sweet, but good.

  5. consistency was not at all like the image shown.. but still very delicious!

Is there something else you can substitute for the jam?  Thanks so much!!!!  Love the recipes!
