A while back, I came across this Mountain Bread in the refrigerated section at my local Whole Foods store. They looked pretty big, and the nutritional stats indicated that they were only 2 Points + per sheet. So I bought a pack, took them home, and put them to the test, and they were truly fantastic! They are thin and light, but when wrapped around your favorite light wrap fixins’, they are a perfect way to make a big, hearty wrap that is still low in Weight Watchers Points. I’ve eaten them with cold wraps, but prefer to use them with a heated wrap, like this Roasted Red Pepper Wrap. Mountain Bread has only 3 ingredients—flour, water, salt…that’s it! No yeast, no dairy, no cholesterol, no stabilizers, no added sugar, no oil, no artificial ingredients. All varieites have wheat–except Spelt. I used the Natural Mountain Bread Variety, but there are lots of others to choose from (Click HERE to see all the varieties they offer). They also have a long shelf life – 60 days at room temperaure. Freeze for up to 12 months with easy defrost and STILL GET THE 60 DAYS! Sooooo good! Keep reading to learn more…
A good friend of mine has been munching on these gimMe Organic Roasted Seaweed Snacks a lot recently, and when she told me that each pack was only 1 Points Plus, I totally understood why. I know what you are thinking though…roasted seaweed…for REAL? But when I decided to give some a try myself, I found them to be crunchy, flaky, salty, and absolutely delicious. These paper thin sheets of seaweed is the same stuff that is used in wrapping many sushi rolls. So, if you’ve had sushi, you can get an idea of the taste. Except these are crispier, and more flavored, so they make a fantastic healthy and low calorie snack to have, sans the sushi roll. Keep reading to learn more…
I’m not going to lie…sometimes I eat junk food. Food that has no nutritional value whatsoever, but just tastes flipping’ delicious. Once in a while, I just need that fix. And Marshmallow Peeps are one of my little junk food addictions. I always get so excited at Easter time when I see them all over the place, and I always treat myself to some. Recently, Peeps Minis have hit store shelves, in a variety of tasty flavors too! And so now I can get my once in a while Peeps fix with 10 little mini Peeps, for just 3-4 Points Plus. I love this idea, because, even though they are smaller than regular Peeps, eating more of them makes me feel like I’m getting more, so it’s easier for me to stop after 1 serving. They come in four great flavors to choose from: Sour Watermelon (my favorite), Vanilla Creme, Chocolate Creme and Strawberry Creme. I found them at Target, but they can be found in the candy aisle at most retailers. But please note, the Vanilla Creme flavor is exclusively at Target.
With the temperatures around 101-108 degrees here the past few days, all I want to do is eat foods that are cold and refreshing. Lucky for me, I had a few of Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Pops in my freezer, and they are my latest addiction. Seriously…I may need an intervention because I CANNOT STOP EATING THEM. Chloes’s Fruit Co. has a flagship store in Manhattan, NY where they offer fourteen varieties of soft serve fruit that they rotate on a seasonal basis, and now eight of which are offered in popsicle form! I’m a huge lover of popsicles, and have recommended quite a few different frozen goodies on my blog, but the things that make Chloe’s really stand out to me are the company’s incredible commitment to creating clean eating desserts that are as wholesome as you can get, and the perfectly natural taste of these popsicles. They literally have 3 ingredients: fruit, water, a touch or organic cane sugar. That’s it. Pure, simple, and absolutely delicious. Not only that, but they are free of gluten, dairy, fat and the eight other major allergens. And each one is just 2 Weight Watchers Points! Keep reading to learn more…
Admittedly, I’m one of those people who always complain about not having time for breakfast. I can manage to get my kids fed, but feeding myself is a challenge. So when I came across this Emerald Breakfast On the Go Nut! and Granola Mix at my local Walmart, I was pretty excited to give it a try! Each 5 Points Plus pouch contains a mix of nuts, dried fruit and oatmeal clusters. I grab a pack of these with a piece of fruit and my coffee, and I’m in the car in no time. They also make great snacks too! And it gets better…they come in a huge selection of delicious flavors…Apples and Cinnamon, Berry Nut Blend, S’Mores Nut Blend, Maple and Brown Sugar, Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana Nut Blend, Breakfast Nut Blend, and two Coffee House Blends: Caramel Macchiato and Vanilla Latte. WHOAH.
Spring is in full swing, and I’m already getting excited for delicious, seasonal treats! One of my favorites are these All-Natural Goodpop Frozen Pops. They are unbelievably delicious, and are a great treat that I can enjoy without feeling guilty. Also, because they are made with only wholesome, natural, real ingredients, they are a great snack to share with my kids who are OBSESSED with popsicles. All-Natural Goodpop Frozen Pops range from 1-3 Points + each, depending on the flavor. And they come in seven staple flavors: The non-dairy are Watermelon Agave, Strawberry, Strawberry Lemonade, Hibiscus Mint, and the Dairy based ones are Chocolate, Banana Cinnamon, and Coldbrew Coffee…and they are all fantastic!! Additionally, they offer some seasonal flavors like: Pineapple Basil, Mango Chile, Coconut, Pina Colada, and many more! WOW!!!! Seriously, I’m in love with these. Keep reading to learn more….
Sometimes you just GOTTA have something sweet. But before you go and dive headfirst into that calorie laden dessert that will ruin all the good eating you did all day, consider having one of today’s Fabulous Food Finds – Special K Moments Indulgent Snack Bites. I found these recently at my local Target, and was pretty excited to give them a try. They come in two flavors – Caramel Pretzel Bliss and Dreamy Coconut. They were both fantastic! And at 2 Points Plus each, they are just the right size to satisfy your sweet tooth without going overboard. BONUS: They freeze really well! After discovering how tasty they were, I went back to Target and grabbed a few more boxes to stash in my freezer. I always get a sweets craving in the evening, so these Special K Moments have been a lifesaver.
When you’ve got the munchies, these new Pita Puffs from Food Should Taste Good are the way to go! They are little, puffed out pita bites that are crisp, airy, and absolutely delicious. They come in 4 different flavors too: Chives, Multigrain, Pesto and Cinnamon Sugar. I tried them all and thought the Cinnamon Sugar was the best, though the Pesto was a close second! I bought a couple bags of the cinnamon sugar flavor and have been munching on these in the evening after dinner, when I start to have cravings for sweets. And these actually help me satisfy two cravings in one, making it the perfect sweet and salty crunchy snack.
I usually prefer a lemon juice or vinegar based salad dressing, but somedays, I just need something good and creamy, and this new Cilantro Avocado Yogurt Dressing from Bolthouse Farms is perfect! It’s so creamy, fresh and flavorful, and yet still very low in Weight Watchers Points – each 2 tbsp serving is just 1 Points Plus! And my favorite part is that the ingredients list is all natural, so the taste is pure and delicious. They have tons of other flavors too, most of which I’ve tried, and they are all fantastic. But the Cilantro Avocado and Mango Chipotle are their newest (I haven’t tried the Mango Chipotle yet, but it’s on my grocery list!). If you are looking for a delicious way to smother your greens in creamy, heavenly goodness, then pick up a bottle asap!
Always on the lookout for healthy, Weight Watchers friendly snacks, I’m sharing one of my new, FAVORITE crackers for today’s Fabulous Food Find Fridays post. I recently came across Van’s Natural Foods Multigrain Gluten Free Crackers on the shelf at my local Target, and grabbed a couple of boxes to take home. First of all, each 30 cracker serving is just 4 Points +, making them a wonderful Weight Watchers snack to have on hand. But, these whole grain, gluten free goodies are also minimally processed and made from fresh ingredients. Plus, did I mention they taste fantastic? Crispy, crunchy and delicious, they are loaded with 16g of whole grains including oats, quinoa and amaranth. After enjoying them with some of my cauliflower hummus, I got the idea to utilize them in an old recipe I grew up with that was in need of a healthy makeover…my mom’s Vegetable Cheese Casserole. Crisp, crunchy, incredibly flavorful chips that pack in a whole serving of vegetables per ounce, YES!!!! I originally came across Snikiddy Eat Your Vegetables Chips at a Babies R Us store and decided to give them a try. Man, were they good!!! Totally not what I was expecting. My kids gobbled these up too, so they are a great snack for everyone to enjoy. Of course, eating actual vegetables, at 0 Points Plus is always the better, healthier option. But if you are gonna snack on some chips, you might as well get the most benefits from it that you can, right? Keep reading to learn more…
I have long since been a fan of Applegate’s line of meat and cheese products, but when I saw their new uncured light pepperoni at my local Whole Foods, I literally jumped for joy (so much that the lady nearby looking at yogurts had to come over and ask me what I was so excited about). Applegate’s new Mini Uncured Turkey Pepperoni is a delicious, lighter pepperoni that is not only low in Weight Watchers Points Plus, it’s all natural and nitrate free!! I love cooking with turkey pepperoni, but I won’t feed any meats with nitrates to my kids. But now, I can create some delicious new Weight Watchers recipes using this light pepperoni and not have to worry about that. Yay!! And each 1 oz serving (about 16 slices) is just 1 Weight Watchers Point! Keep reading to learn more…
Applegate Uncured Turkey Pepperoni
Additionally, Applegate also offers Mini Uncured Pork Pepperoni that is equally delicious and just 1 Point for a 1 oz serving. I tried them both and they are absolutely delicious! Smoky, spicy, and full of that Italian pepperoni flavor that we all love. Look for them at health food stores like Whole Foods. Or check out the store locator to see which store nearest to you offers them.
