Here in SoCal, the temperatures have been well into the 100’s this past week. Therefore, all I’m craving is cold stuff. Cold salads, cold sandwiches, and of course ice cream and frozen yogurt. A few weeks back, I saw this week’s fabulous Food Find at my grocery store and made a mental note to give it a try soon. Well, this past weekend, while emptying out the frozen desserts section, I decided to give these frozen yogurt and sorbet bars a try. Boy, am I glad I did!! While I’ve always been a fan of Jamba Juice Light Smoothies, I was never in love with them. So I wasn’t super psyched to try their new line of frozen goods. But their tasty new Jamba Yogurt & Sorbet Bars have lured me in! Wanna learn more about these 1 Point goodies? Keep reading, folks!

Jamba Yogurt & Sorbet Bars

Packing all the goodness of nature’s bounty in a 70-90 calorie bar, frozen never tasted so good! They come in the following mouth-watering flavors: Vanilla Blueberry Pomegranate Perfection, Peach Blackberry Smash, Vanilla Strawberry Jubilation, Coconut Pineapple Passion Smashin’, and Strawberry Lemonade Swirl. Each of these frozen yogurt bars has just 1 Weight Watchers Point!
This product that I want to share today has been on the market for a few months now, but as I just found at at my most recent Weight Watchers meeting, surprisingly, not everyone knows about it!! Remember when Wonder Bread used to make those DEEEEELICIIOUS 1 Point hot dog buns? Me too. And I was so beyond sad when they discontinued them. For many a month I mourned their loss, and then was beyond overjoyed when I saw that Orowheat/Arnold’s came out with a new product called “Fill ‘ems”. Finally, I could have a 2 Point hot dog again – life is good. Keep reading too get the low down on this Fabulous Food Find!

Today is Fabulous Food Find Friday, and I wanted to share with all of you a fabulous, low calorie peanut butter substitute! Now, for those of you who are serious Weight Watchers foodies, you probably are already aware of this monstrously delicious PB alternative. BUT, as one of my readers so graciously reminded me last week (thanks, Leah!) not everyone may be aware that this product exists. So, I figured it’s definitely worth a blog post, because if you are a peanut butter lover and also a weight watcher who rarely indulges in PB because of the super high Points value, then this may seriously be the best Friday of your life. Wanna know what this product is?!?!?? Well, keep reading, folks!

Low Calorie Peanut Butter Substitute

With just 100 calories, 2 grams of fat and 2 grams of fiber, Better’n Peanut Butter has just 2 Weight Watchers Points per serving. And that serving size is a whopping 2 tbsp!! Better’n Peanut Butter is the all-natural product of the Wonder Natural Foods Corporation that can be used in all the ways that you now use regular peanut butter, but instead of 16 grams of fat per serving, Better ‘n Peanut Butter delivers less than 3 grams of fat per serving and qualifies as a low fat food by USFDA standards. It comes in Original Creamy, Chocolate flavor (hello, lovah!) and Low Sodium Peanut Butter. Some local health food stores or Trader Joe’s may carry this, but you can also buy it online. Enjoy!!

I have always been a fan of The Skinny Cow Ice Cream Products, but when I spotted these new treats on the shelves, I was overcome with happiness. This Fabulous Food Find Friday, I want to tell you about The Skinny Cow’s new portion-controlled low fat ice cream cups, which come in 5 different flavors: Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Dulce de Leche, Strawberry Cheesecake, Caramel Cone, and Cookies ‘N Cream and I was amazed at how delicious and rich these were!! I snatched up each flavor at the grocery store and they are all fabulous. Though my favorite was the Dulce de Leche. They range from 150-170 calories, 1-3 grams of fat and 4 grams of fiber, giving them just 2-3 Weight Watchers Points each. Not bad!! The cute little cups give you the same feel as eating a pint of ice cream, except its not a pint and it’s low calorie ice cream. A great Weight Watchers snack idea!!

The Skinny Cow Ice Cream Cups

Looking for low Points ice cream treats? Try The Skinny Cow’s Low Fat Ice Cream Cups! Rich and delicious, each portion controlled ice cream cup has just 2-3 Weight Watchers Points.
Another Fabulous Food Finds Friday has arrived, and here’s what’s new on grocer’s shelves for us weight watchers: Kraft Singles Meltdowns Cheese! These are individually wrapped American cheese slices that come in 3 yummy flavors (Pizza, Nacho and Taco) and have been formulated to melt more easily. They can be melted on bagels, tortilla chips, tortillas and pitas, in order to create instant pizza, nachos and quesadillas. Though processed cheese isn’t as yummy as fresh, real cheese, this is still a great portion controlled way to make some skinnier versions of your favorite foods. It’s much easier than trying to measure out shredded cheese, and it does melt pretty well in the microwave. So it’s great to have on hand to quickly prepare one of weight watchers snack recipes. Want some ideas for tasty and low calorie snacks using new Kraft Singles Meltdowns? Read on!

New Kraft Singles Meltdowns Cheese Recipes Ideas

- Throw a slice over some fresh steamed broccoli to make those 0 point veggies a lot less boring (1 Point snack)
- Make a 2 Point pizza using a Western Bagel Alternative Pita, 2 tbsp of jarred pizza sauce and a slice of Pizza Meltdown Cheese; top with fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, or green peppers (2 Point snack)
- Take 6 baked tortilla chips and top with a slice of Nacho Flavored Meltdowns, salsa and jalapenos to attack your nacho craving (3 Point snack)
- Slap down a low calorie tortilla, like La Tortilla Factory’s Smart and Delicious and cover 1 half with 2 slices of Taco or Nacho Flavored Meltdowns, fold in half and heat it up for a quick and fabulous 3 Point quesadilla (3 Point snack)

Truly a great tool to have on hand whenever you are having an “I NEED CHEESE!!!” ‘meltdown’ (pun intended) :)

If you were a fan of Wonder Light’s 1 Point Hamburger and hot dog buns, and you were as depressed as I was when they were discontinued, you’ll be thrilled to try out these delicious alternatives. I was so distraught at the loss of Wonder Light’s low cal goodies that I cried. Seriously, cried. A low points turkey burger just wouldn’t be the same on sandwich bread or pita. What would I do? So after over a year of sulking, I was BEYOND excited to learn about this tasty substitute. They look like a thinned down version of a hamburger bun and they taste amazingly yummy. Each round has just 100 calories, 1 gram of fat and 5 grams of fiber, making them just 1 Weight Watchers Point each! So what are these super fabulous low calorie buns of which I speak? Read on, my fellow foodies!

Nature’s Own Multi-Grain Sandwich Rounds is the Fabulous Foods Find that has recently one my heart.
So, yes, it’s been a while since I posted a Fabulous Food Find Friday post, but I’ve got a yummy one today, and a coupon for all of my readers too! Forgive me? :)
The super awesome folks at Yoplait sent me over some samples of their Yoplait Delights Parfait to try out and I was eager to give it a taste. I must admit that I’m typically a skeptic when it comes to low fat yogurt…it usually tastes fake or chemically to me, and that’s a turn off (see my other fabulous yogurt finds). But when I tried these Yoplait Delights, I was thrilled!!!! SUPER YUMMY!! And each, nicely sized portion, has just 2 Weight Watchers Points! They come in 4 sinful flavor combos, but I only taste tested the Lemon Torte and the Triple Berry Creme and LOVED them!! All 3 grocery stores I went to were out of the Creme Caramel and the Chocolate Raspberry, so I can’t share my thoughts on those flavors yet, but I LOVE…I mean seriously am IN LOVE with anything chocolate raspberry, and creamy caramel flavored goodies also steal my heart, so I can’t wait to get my hands on these low calorie snacks!

Yoplait Delights Low Fat Yogurt – 2 Points

With just 2 Points per serving, these babies make wonderful, everyday low calorie snacks. You really can’t go wrong here…they taste greay, they are good for you, and they won’t use up all your Weight Watchers Points.

Here’s what Yoplait had to say about their rockin’ low calorie, low fat Parfaits….

In a recent study* nearly nine out of 10 women stated they were interested in 100-calorie foods that could help them tame afternoon cravings. Helping to make mid-day snacking satisfying and guilt-free, General Mills introduces new Yoplait® Delights™, a rich and creamy layered yogurt parfait with 100 calories per serving. Yoplait Delights’ unique flavor combinations include Chocolate Raspberry, Triple Berry Crème, Lemon Torte and Crème Caramel.

The new “Yoplait Delights Snacking Survey,” which polled more than 2600 women, exposed and underscored the overwhelming desire for a satisfying treat you can feel good about eating. Key results include:

• 93 percent of women experience an afternoon “slump” and crave a snack.
• Only 1 out of 10 are always happy with their current snacking options.
• 83 percent of women admit they sometimes feel guilty when cravings take over and they reach for sweets.
• The majority of women surveyed look for something tasty and convenient when choosing a snack.

New Yoplait Delights have two luscious layers, giving a taste experience unlike any other. Each cup will satisfy cravings with 100 calories per serving and 1.5 g of fat. Yoplait Delights is available nationwide at a suggested retail price of $2.99 for a package of four-4oz cups.

Yes, the Gods have finally answered my prayers….a ZERO calorie pasta has been created! When I first heard about <a href="http://www.laaloosh.com/miracle-noodle/zero-calorie-pasta"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" title="Miracle Noodle">Miracle Noodle and their no-calorie Shirataki noodles, I was hesitant to believe it was possible to have pasta that has no calories, yet my interest was piqued. I knew I had to try it. After reading through Miracle Noodle’s website, I learned a lot about these special Shirataki noodles. Unlike typical pasta noodles which are made from grain-based flours, and thus loaded with lots of calories and carbohydrates, Shirataki noodles are made from yam flour. So you wind up with gluten-free, calorie-free, low-carb pasta! Granted, the texture of these noodles is a bit different than regular pasta, but the taste is good, they are quite filling, and you can use these in a such wide variety of recipes. And when you think of the calories you’re saving, it’s a fantastically fair trade.

In order to satisfy my curiosity, I decided to give these Miracle Noodles a try. So this weekend, I tried their orzo pasta with a recipe I made from scratch. It was DELICIOUS!! Because you wind up saving so many calories with the pasta, you can afford to add in some full fat versions of other ingredients (like cheese!), thus enhancing the taste and texture without blowing up the calories and Weight Watchers Points value of the dish. The orzo is extremely versatile and can used in many, many recipes!! And I would also recommend the orzo pasta as a great substitute for rice. Miracle Noodle also offers a great variety of different zero calorie pastas like angel hair pasta, fettuccini noodles, rigatoni, lasagna noodles and A LOT more!! All of the noodles absorb much of the flavor of the other foods that you are cooking it with, so feel free to add extra salt or seasonings to your dish. Based on what I’ve tasted of their noodles so far, I can’t wait to try the others and see what astounding recipes I can whip up! I believe that these Miracle Noodles are going to be an AMAZING tool for anyone trying to lose weight.

You’ll be reading a lot more from me in the future on these little bags o’ wonder, as I am excited to experiment and de-calorize some of my favorite pasta recipes! They are easy to work with, and the recipe possibilities with these babies are endless…I am already fantasizing about the tasty recipes I can create! They can be used in soups, casseroles, traditional pasta dishes, stir-fry’s…..and so much more!

As of right now, these noodles are only available online at: <a href="http://www.laaloosh.com/miracle-noodle/zero-calorie-pasta"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" title="Miracle Noodles">MiracleNoodle.com

Make sure to check out my first ever, and super delicious, Miracle Noodle Recipe!
