As I’m sure many of you might have heard, Applebee’s Restaurant has launched a new line of DEEEEE-LICIOUS new Weight Watchers Menu Items! (Applebee’s refers to them as their “Under 550 Calories Menu”) Currently, the nutritional information isn’t available online, BUT the calorie count for each dish is available at all California Applebee’s Restaurant locations. Well, guess who’s located in CA, folks? That’s right…ME! As soon as I heard about the arrival of these fabulous new dishes, I ran on over to the nearest Applebee’s and gave them a try. I took my friends, and we each got one of the new Weight Watchers meals. And I made sure to snag the calorie counts while I was there too! Read on to get the scoop for each dish!

Ok, here’s the skinny on Applebee’s new meal items. It’s pretty much impossible to get the Points values, because Applebee’s doesn’t list the fat or fiber grams in their meals, but I’m working as hard as I can how to find this out. So I’ll keep you posted if I make any headway.

Grilled Dijon Chicken & Portobellos (450 calories) – Grilled chicken topped with portobellos, roasted red peppers, cheddar cheese, and a Dijon sauce. Includes steamed herb potatoes and a side of veggies.

Spicy Shrimp Diavolo (500 calories) – Shrimp, spicy tomato-basil sauce, veggies, and whole-wheat pasta sprinkled with parmesan cheese

Asian Crunch Salad (490 calories) – Greens, sugar snap peas, roasted red peppers, and cucumbers, topped with grilled chicken, sliced almonds, and an Asian vinaigrette dressing

Asiago Peppercorn Steak (390 calories) – Grilled sirloin with cracked peppercorn and melted cheese, served with sides of veggies and potatoes

Grilled Shrimp & Island Rice (290 calories) – Skewers of seasoned shrimp over tropical rice, with a side of veggies

If you’ve got a craving for some Barbecue Potato Chips, but don’t want to salvage all your Weight Watchers Points, these “Popped” Potato Chips from Trader Joe’s will definitely satisfy your craving. I LOOOOOOVE BBQ Potato Chips, but it’s hard to find low calorie versions that taste really good, so when I saw these in the store, I was really excited to give them a try. They were fabulous! Each 19 chip serving is just a 2 Point Total. But here’s the best part…if you eat the WHOLE bag (and yes, I sometimes do – I’m human), you are just consuming 8 total points! Though not recommended, it’s not bad for eating a whole bag of chips. Wanna learn more about them? Keep reading!

Trader Joe’s “Popped” Potato Chips

Though not an official Weight Watchers Snack, these incredible chips are an ideal alternative to your conventional potato chip and an ideal treat for anyone trying to cut calories but still enjoy great taste. They have less than half the fat of a regular potato chip but keep the great taste. And they are amazingly light, airy and very flavorful! I’ve also found the the bags have very few broken chips. They aren’t baked OR fried…they are cooked with pressure. I don’t know how they do it, but man, they are GOOD! They also come in regular salted flavor, but the BBQ ones are much better.

Entire bag has 3 servings
Serving size is 19 chips
Serving size = 2 Point Total

So, yes, it’s been a while since I posted a Fabulous Food Find Friday post, but I’ve got a yummy one today, and a coupon for all of my readers too! Forgive me? :)
The super awesome folks at Yoplait sent me over some samples of their Yoplait Delights Parfait to try out and I was eager to give it a taste. I must admit that I’m typically a skeptic when it comes to low fat yogurt…it usually tastes fake or chemically to me, and that’s a turn off (see my other fabulous yogurt finds). But when I tried these Yoplait Delights, I was thrilled!!!! SUPER YUMMY!! And each, nicely sized portion, has just 2 Weight Watchers Points! They come in 4 sinful flavor combos, but I only taste tested the Lemon Torte and the Triple Berry Creme and LOVED them!! All 3 grocery stores I went to were out of the Creme Caramel and the Chocolate Raspberry, so I can’t share my thoughts on those flavors yet, but I LOVE…I mean seriously am IN LOVE with anything chocolate raspberry, and creamy caramel flavored goodies also steal my heart, so I can’t wait to get my hands on these low calorie snacks!

Yoplait Delights Low Fat Yogurt – 2 Points

With just 2 Points per serving, these babies make wonderful, everyday low calorie snacks. You really can’t go wrong here…they taste greay, they are good for you, and they won’t use up all your Weight Watchers Points.

Here’s what Yoplait had to say about their rockin’ low calorie, low fat Parfaits….

In a recent study* nearly nine out of 10 women stated they were interested in 100-calorie foods that could help them tame afternoon cravings. Helping to make mid-day snacking satisfying and guilt-free, General Mills introduces new Yoplait® Delights™, a rich and creamy layered yogurt parfait with 100 calories per serving. Yoplait Delights’ unique flavor combinations include Chocolate Raspberry, Triple Berry Crème, Lemon Torte and Crème Caramel.

The new “Yoplait Delights Snacking Survey,” which polled more than 2600 women, exposed and underscored the overwhelming desire for a satisfying treat you can feel good about eating. Key results include:

• 93 percent of women experience an afternoon “slump” and crave a snack.
• Only 1 out of 10 are always happy with their current snacking options.
• 83 percent of women admit they sometimes feel guilty when cravings take over and they reach for sweets.
• The majority of women surveyed look for something tasty and convenient when choosing a snack.

New Yoplait Delights have two luscious layers, giving a taste experience unlike any other. Each cup will satisfy cravings with 100 calories per serving and 1.5 g of fat. Yoplait Delights is available nationwide at a suggested retail price of $2.99 for a package of four-4oz cups.

Flavor Combinations:
*Chocolate Raspberry- Rich and creamy chocolate yogurt topped with luscious raspberry yogurt *Triple Berry Crème- A delightful blend of strawberry, blueberry & raspberry yogurt topped with creamy vanilla yogurt *Lemon Torte – Luscious lemon yogurt with just the right amount of zest topped with smooth & creamy vanilla yogurt *Crème Caramel- Rich and creamy caramel yogurt topped with smooth vanilla yogurt

And now for that COUPON I promised y’all!! Just CLICK HERE and you can print a Yoplait coupon for $1.25 off a 4-pack of Yoplait Delights!!

In the midst of this hot summer, having a nice cool, creamy ice cream bar sounds ideal. But if you are a Weight Watcher, it’s not always easy to find low calorie ice cream bars that are tasty and low in Weight Watchers Points. When I spotted these Skinny Cow Truffle Bars on supermarket shelves, I couldn’t wait to try one! In fact, I tore open the box as soon as I got in the car, and whipped one of those babies out! Yowsa!!! They are deeeeeeelish! Smooth and creamy, and elegantly drizzled with chocolate, these decadent ice cream treats are a must.

Skinny Cow Truffle Bars

Each of these tasty bars of low calorie ice cream heaven have just 100 calories, 2g of fat and 3g of fiber!! Giving it a Point Total of just 2!! Yippee! They come in 2 flavors – Chocolate and French Vanilla. And the thing that I love most is that when you eat one of these, they taste so good, you feel like you are indulging in some top notch ice cream bars, laden with fat and calories. This cool treat is the perfect low fat snack for anyone who refuses to give up good ice cream while dieting!

PS: Skinny Cow has a whole line of low cal goodies! Checkout the frozen sweets aisle in your supermarket.

Ok, I know it’s been a LOOOONG time since I’ve posted last, but it’s been pretty crazy here at LaaLoosh headquarters. With all the Weight Watchers drama, amongst a gazillion other things, I’ve had absolutely no time to blog. But, since today is Fabulous Food Find Friday, I had to find a moment or two to mention these rockin’ 0 Point Total popsicles from none other than Crystal Light! It’s starting to get pretty darn hot outside these days, and I’ve been super psyched to hit the freezer aisle at the supermarket to see what new low calorie frozen treats are in store.
