If you were a fan of Wonder Light’s 1 Point Hamburger and hot dog buns, and you were as depressed as I was when they were discontinued, you’ll be thrilled to try out these delicious alternatives.

I was so distraught at the loss of Wonder Light’s low cal goodies that I cried. Seriously, cried. A low points turkey burger just wouldn’t be the same on sandwich bread or pita. What would I do? So after over a year of sulking, I was BEYOND excited to learn about this tasty substitute.

They look like a thinned down version of a hamburger bun and they taste amazingly yummy. Each round has just 100 calories, 1 gram of fat and 5 grams of fiber, making them just 1 Weight Watchers Point each!

So what are these super fabulous low calorie buns of which I speak? Read on, my fellow foodies!

Nature’s Own Multi-Grain Sandwich Rounds is the Fabulous Foods Find that has recently one my heart. They are versatile enough for deli and salad sandwiches, burgers, breakfast toast, mini pizzas, and other combinations, providing a delicious new way for us to create the meals we crave.

Seriously, there is SO much that can be done with these babies. Nature’s Own Healthy Multi-Grain Sandwich Rounds are available in eight-count bags with a convenient, resealable zipper to ensure freshness.

  • No artificial colors or flavors
  • No high fructose corn syrup
  • 16 grams of whole grain per serving
  • 5 grams of fiber per serving
  • 100 calories per serving

And they taste AMAZING!!!!! At long last, I can enjoy burgers once again.

  1. Where can I purchase Merita light wheat hot dogs and hamburger buns?

  2. I read through all your posts, and noticed the older ones were not converted to Points +. Have you found a sandwich bread that is only 1 point?

    • No, not since Weight Watchers changed their old Points to the new Points + system. Carbs, like breads, are now all higher in Points +. Boo. (.

      • Nature’s Own Double whole wheat bread is 1 pt. It is good!

  3. Guys the Oroweat sandwich thins are 3 points NOT 1 point!!!!!

    • Yes, the new Points Plus value for these is 3. The 1 Point that is currently listed was for the old Points system.

I love the sandwich rounds!!!!! I love most all breads but never liked the thick sandwich breads – but I LOVE the thin sandwich rounds. PLEASE make some with rye!!!!!! I don't care for 100% wheat so I buy the multigrain sandwich rounds. But my family loves rye bread so please consider making some with rye.

  5. I use these for everything now. I have them for breakfast, toasted with smart balance spread; for lunch on a sandwich and sometimes for dinner as a toast with mozarella, basil and tomatoes…excellent and very tasty…

    • Ooo…that tomato, basil, mozzarella sandwich recipe sounds DEEEELISH!!!

  6. Got these the other day to have with my turkey burger. They were excellent. So glad to have 1 pt. burger buns again.

I have already discovered these 'Sandwich Thins', which they are called under the Oroweat brand. They sell several varieties, including the Multi-Grain, but I buy them in the 'Honey Wheat' variety. All varieties are 100 calories, and are only 1 Weight Watcher's point each.

The Oroweat 'Honey Wheat' has 1 g fat and 5 g fiber. I make sandwiches, using FF mayo, Dijon Mustard, FF American cheese (which melts just like the real stuff) and thin deli sliced Turkey – microwaved for about 35 seconds in my 1175 watt microwave. They are delicious. They can also be used as the base for pizza rounds using Cadanidian bacon, a few pinapple tidbids and Paul Newman's "Sockarooni" pasta sauce (very low cal).

Thank you LaaLoosh for all your tips!

    • YES! The Orowheat brand makes them too, and they are fantastic! Thanks for your info and suggestions.

PS. Sara Lee has now apparently launched a line of 1 Point Hot Dog Buns and 1 Point Hamburger Buns! Look for them on your grocery store shelves!

  8. Love these but if you calculate using decimals per iWatchr app ($.99) these are 1.3 points. I also love the Hot Dog & Hamburg buns from Merita (Lite Whole Wheat) which are only .8 pts each found at Publix. That half point gets me a Fiber One Yogurt Snack (.2 pts) plus 2T of Cool Whip Free on top. Please share.
