Sometimes mid-morning instead of a snack, I make this easy healthy chocolate energy shake. One afternoon while at a vitamin and herbal shop, I picked up a couple of single packets of energy shake mixes.

In the past, many of the shake mixes I bought weren’t very tasty and had a “grainy” taste to them. I was pleasantly surprised when I made this at home. I picked up a couple of packets of Spiru-Tein High Energy Protein and tried several flavors.

The chocolate is amazing. You don’t necessarily need a blender, but I used one to make sure all the lumps were gone. This shake is filling and definitely held me over until lunch.

  1. Wondering how this is only 2 points plus. I got 4 points plus when I calculated it. A cup of milk is 2 points plus and a scoop of the powder is 2 points plus as well. Thanks.

Hi Lorraine, Unfortunately I am not that familiar with using Pinterest, I’ve only started using it a short time ago.

  2. Certainly caught my eye with the title. I have never heard of this brand so I will have to find where I can get it from. I was thinking you could also put in some ice cubes and make it a thicker shake. Not sure if it would taste good or not but it is a thought.

      Trina,
These shake packets can be purchased in singles or a larger can/container. I found them at a store; Vitamin Shoppe. But I am sure you could find them at any health food store like; GNC, Whole Foods Market or Vitamin World. You can make this shake with ice too. I have used ice. My only issue was it tasted a little watered down. Some of the fruit flavored shakes I have used fruit juice instead of milk or water. You will need to adjust the points if you use fruit juice or water. One of my friends used Almond Milk with the chocolate shake mix. She said it was really good too.
